- Dishwashers – hoses leading to the dishwasher can become weak or worn. This can be a major problem with plastic hoses. These hoses can crack and leak. They tend to last for about a decade, but should be checked at least yearly.

- Toilets. Leaky toilets are problematic, in particular because they can leak for a long time without you knowing about it. You can add a couple drops of food coloring into the tank and wait for about 30 minutes. If the water in the toilet bowl doesn’t run clear, the toilet is leaking.
